We have become passionate about exploring new territories; neighbouring towns, conservation parks and waterfront trails with our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels; Kodee and Becky.
I'm a practical person and everything must have a purpose or place. So I was stuck with what to do with all these photos. Our blogs Bark'n About and Fetching Photos gave a home to my hiking adventure tales and photography.Beyond the Dog Dishhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08337379384658445607noreply@blogger.comBlogger225125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3376567859070643360.post-57670311122590315632015-06-19T09:35:00.001-04:002015-06-19T09:35:46.220-04:00Bitter Sweet
Lilacs are my Mom's favourite spring flower. While I was growing up we had a huge lilac tree outside our second floor den which had a balcony off it. The lilac tree grew up to meet the balcony and while you sat out there each May the fragrance was wonderful.
This lilac bush is also very special because it started from a clipping from my husband's Grandmother's garden. I know, the rest of you are all YEAH SPRING FLOWERS and here I am posting gloomy reminders of winter! I'm so slow about getting my photos off my camera card, I take forever to sort and cull and just call me a turtle at editing! Picky, picky, picky..
Little glimmers of hope popped up along the path as we found signs of spring.

"I'd rather wear flowers in my hair than diamonds around my neck."
This is how I think of Becky. If she were human (wait, isn't she?!..) there is no doubt in my mind she would be a flower child! She is a very earthy dog, simple likes, no make up, roll up your sleeves sort of girl err dog.

The Good: This winter was much brighter than I expected. The Bad: The temperatures dipped far below what either the dogs or myself could brave on most days. Both Kodee and myself seemed to have a harder time with arthritis this year - not that we are showing our age or anything...
Winter is long though, so at some point life just seemed to stop. With a thud. February 20, 2015
Venus and Mars have not been this close to the moon since 2008 and won't be again till 2017. That is what made me venture out for a few seconds in sub -30C weather! I use back button focus on my camera so that meant I had to actually take my warm & fuzzy mitt off for 3 seconds to focus. In that little time my fingers felt the burn of the cold. 3 snaps and IBeyond the Dog Dishhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08337379384658445607noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3376567859070643360.post-74053239633817330382015-02-24T01:35:00.004-05:002015-02-24T01:47:40.657-05:00Bitter Snow Rose

STORY TIME! Learning photography is all due to this girl right here. When Kodee was about a year she started to have a problem with her patella. Cats... not a big fan here!
Going through all my photos I never had a chance to edit in 2014. I stumbled across this little fellow at the barns. He never really leaves your side. I swear cats know I am not a fan so they stick that much closer to me. I think this cat was giving grumpy cat a run for his money!

Poor Kodee doesn't have much say in the fact I so often make her look silly! December is her birthday month and this year she turned 8 yrs old! Don't tell Kodee she is a senior though - she is still a very active and spunky girl!

Ah what a magnificent fall we have had this year. Not thrilled though this week brought on a sudden drop in temperature plus that horrid white fluff descending from above.
